‘ Doh Point Nau ’ – The Notorious tag, known for many desi urban hits from Rishi Rich’s side, finally take’s shape of a package .2point9 the label, is out with its debut release which goes by the name of “ Juggy D – The Album ”,One of the most anticipated records of the season . The album has been produced by fellow crew member, “ Mentor ” and to make the connection a little stronger there are collaborations by Veronica, Don D & Jay Sean in addition Rishi Rich take’s care of the production of four tracks.
Hype, its all about the Stripes – The Front Cover, is very much 2point9 like, with Juggy D posing with his ever popular look of all Adidas gear.
The album start’s off with “Sohniye” , a quiet popular track as it has been featured on various compilations since its release as a single, back in February, the track is rather slick symphonic type, with a well balanced tune through out and resilient in terms of vocals, a very nice kick-off .
Track 2 – “Billo” , A fast tempo-ed dance number with fledged desi vibes, just the perfect one to turn the mood on , the later half brings juggy’s dragging riffs which blend in really well. A heavy dance tune to label it, yet lurid at the same time with hip blends.
Come On(Aajana part 2) – Brings Rishi on to the production desk, as Veronica backs up on the vocals . Juggy continues on with his joust and merry vocals and lyrics whereas Veronica tries to put some mist to her voice as it has a rather dream/high feel to it ! while Rishi watermark’s it with the desi jingles.
On 4, lies an experimental type, titled “ Nasheh ”, Vocals aswell as lyrics are very much down straight desi but deliver a very positive note “ Nasheh toun mundyo bach ke raho ” juggy experiment’s with the traditional element(s) of the vocal’s and manages to pulls it off nicely while the pure – effects free tune, helps this one to stand out !
“ Gabru ” - featuring, the Mc of smash hit “ nahin jeena ” from the eva popular Rishi Rich Project, returns with his signature style. “ O ho ” starts it off which is pretty much the keynote for this one and undeniably is very catchy, followed by some typical reggae style deliveries. Juggy also adds somewhat of attitude to it - “ Paase hatt jaa ni ye,Gabru jawan vayee uth da ! ” As for the music, Rishi Rich spice’s it up with some real intense flavours. A “nau” out of 10.
Broadway skit, a 30 sec filler, just for the sake of urban tradtion, all the big name’s throw in skit’s like this, in their packs.
Say What ! The Duet with Jay Sean labeled “Meri Jaan” rests on number 7, Jay Sean shines, with his own particular style of blending “ungray zee” vocals with juggy’s desi vibe’s and once again this lull/hip fusion doesn’t fails to mesmerize not to forget the deep & well placed bass line, all in all an excellent track and another highlight of the album.
Dil Di Rani - The loquacious Juggy brings back his ‘ol skool neat desi style. Metrically this one’s layed on billo’s pattern whereas the tempo is a little slower then what we have experienced previously, with oscillating melodies and ethnic fusion this one’s also a good one!
Number 9 “Akheer” a slow lullaby (like). Presented in a traditional manner while poetry being the main ‘factor’. Juggy drops his upbeat Bhangra tempo and opts to an easy going mystic tone. A relief from hard hitters come’s this symphonic lounge number, which might leave an impression on few.
‘Nasheh’ is brought back to the listings, remixed! The upfront traditional vibe has been replaced with upbeat riffs, tunes, Mc-ing and a much +ve bass line which doesn’t fails to impress if you are spinnin it on some heavy sub !
Another Remix to finish this off, “Sohniye Remix” brings back the reggae-ness of Don Dee, as he throws in some, to label it as a ‘mix’, apart from the mc-ing one can hardly see any difference.
To Wrap all up, the album is defiantly a ‘YES’, with no album filler’s what so ever, Juggy D –The Album, doesn’t falls short of all the Hype caused by the album delay and the name which it carries “Doh point nau”. Infact proves to be the Hot cake for the label and artist itself, So all this leads to one thing, A Must Buy! Though my copy of the album has finally arrived but rest of the paki people might have to wait for a while before they could lay their hands on this one, nationwide availability is expected by the second week.
