The secretary of slain Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (S) chief Maulana Samiul Haq has been reported missing for the last few daysSyed Ahmed Shah has been missing from Akora Khattak for the last four days. He remained a close aide of the assassinated JUI-S chief. Family members claimed they had tried to call him on his cell phone but contact could not be established.Leader of JUI-S, Maulana Abdul Haq Haqqani also corroborated claims of Shah’s family and confirmed that contact could not be established with the missing secretary. Haqqani speculated that it might be an attempt to evade the police investigation.However, a senior officer of Rawalpindi Police said Shah was not considered a suspect earlier but his interrogation has become crucial for the investigation team following recent events.A first information report (FIR) of the murder of the JUI-S chief was registered at the airport police station on the complaint of his son Maulana Hamid.According to the FIR registered under sections 302 and 304 of the Pakistan Penal Code, the Haq received some 12 wounds on his shoulders, chest, ear and forehead.Police spokesperson Imran Kazmi had said that forensics had collected evidence from the room where Haq was assassinated. They lifted fingerprints from some of the items in the room and also collected CCTV footage from the housing society’s record room.
