The parade will be participated by elements of the Armed Forces, police, guerrillas and local guards, representatives of different organizations composed
of veterans, young volunteers, workers, farmers, youths, women and social
organizations, and all those who have contributed greatly to the victory of the
anti-U.S. resistance war for the liberation of South Vietnam and the long
struggle for national reunification.
The meeting and parade are co-sponsored by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the
Vietnam Fatherland Front, and HCM City People's Committee.
According to organizers, this year's parade is expected to attract the great attention of both domestic and foreign audience.
On April 29, there will be incense offering ceremonies, one held in the capital of Hanoi to pay tribute to President Ho Chi Minh and the martyrs, and
the other in HCM City's Ben Duoc Martyr Monument. Both will be attended by
leaders of the party and government.
On the occasion of the Liberation Day this year, a ceremony will also be held in the city for the replacement of old statue depicting President Ho Chi Minh
and a kid located in front of the City Hall with a new one. The opening of the
walkers-only Nguyen Hue Avenue in the city will also be held.
Various events to be held simultaneously in different localities to commemorate the Liberation Day and National Reunification will feature fireworks
displays, artistic and music performances, seminars and sports events.
The 27th edition of the HCM City Television Cup Cycling Tournament, which kicked off on April 11 in Hanoi will be concluded in HCM City on April 30.
