It’s not exactly an apology, but Bethesda is clearly trying to make amends for the rocky and disappointing rollout of Fallout 76 by giving out free games to those players. The studio announced that anyone who has logged onto Fallout 76 this year will be treated to the Fallout Classic Collection, a game pack that includes Fallout, Fallout 2, and Fallout Tactics. Bethesda said that the freebies will be handed out in January to PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 players.

I am not sure if this is just a good gesture from Bethesda during the Holiday season or an apology due to the absolute dumpster fire the release of Fallout 76 has been. It started right at the beginning of the game’s launch, then, the party continued into the game’s special edition when owners didn’t receive the canvas bag that was promised to them. Bethesda gave out in-game game currency to owners to make up for their blunder, however, it wasn’t even enough to purchase the canvas bag within the game. Maybe this will help, but I am not sure that giving PC games to console players is the right idea.

Bethesda has announced on Twitter than anyone who’s logged into the full release of Fallout 76 in 2018 will be receiving the Fallout Classic Collection in January. The Classic Collection, in case you’re wondering, includes three Fallout titles (all from the pre-Bethesda Fallout days). Namely, these are the original Fallout, Fallout 2, and Fallout Tactics. This will apply to all Fallout 76 players, across PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Best and Cheapest FO76 Caps For Sale - Mmocs.com.

Some people who own Fallout 76 may in fact already have received the Fallout Classic Collection for free. Anybody who pre-ordered the game on PC also received a free copy of the Fallout Classic Collection; this offer was added a few weeks prior to the game’s release, but was retroactively applied to all PC pre-orders by Bethesda.

Fallout and Fallout 2 sit at 93 per cent positive reviews on Steam, while Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel has 83 per cent positive reviews, despite the games being two decades old, with visibly dated graphics. Those who didn't buy Fallout 76 and don't want to, can get these three games at what is a bargain for the quality and game depth - each of these games is on a 75 per cent discount during the holidays.

The Fallout Classic Collection — currently available on Steam for $5.99 — gathers together three of the earliest games in the series as a package deal. You get the original Fallout, its sequel Fallout 2, and the spin-off title, Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel.
