The first commercial printers typically used mechanisms with electric typewriters and teletype machines. The demand for high speed gave birth to the development of new systems, especially for computer use. In the 1980s there were daisywheel systems similar to a typewriter, whose output line was similar to a printer, but at very high speeds, and dot matrix systems that could mix text and graphics but used to produce relatively low-quality output.
Plotter was used for people requiring high-quality line art like blueprints. The first low-cost printer HP LaserJet launched in 1984. Until 1990, the easiest printing task, such as flyer and brochures, was now being built on personal computers and then started printing on laser printers.
During the decade of 1990 and2000, the Internet has largely replaced the need for printing as a means of transferring the document due to the rapid growth of email. From around 2010, 3D printing became an area of greater interest, making it easy to print 3D
objects.
