The MMORPG’s launch saw it becoming the second most played game on Steam, but while hundreds of thousands of players were ready to explore Aeternum, plenty ended up stuck in queues with wait times varying from tens of minutes to several hours. New World’s free server transfer will give players an opportunity to move their characters to less populated servers, easing the load on the more popular ones and reducing the time it takes to get into the game.No exact date was given for when New World’s free server transfers might go live and the developer isn’t relying solely on them to fix the long queue times. “We have the final pieces of the server transfer system tested and ready to go, but we are making a difficult decision to hold it until next week,” an update reads. “This was a balance call between honoring a date we told you to expect, versus the disruption of a deployment during a peak play period (the weekend).”
