The Road to Nowhere

To travel the road to nowhere.
The soul's dark amazon.
Eternal peace is anywhere,
the mind might set upon.

To travel the road to nowhere.
To know you're really gone.
And when you finally get there,
to find your god is Ron.

There's something in the cupboard, boy.
There's something in the dark.
There's something in the cupboard, boy,
that leaves a lasting mark.

There's something in the cupboard, boy.
Old secrets gather dust.
There's something in the cupboard, boy,
that reeks decay and must.

To travel the road to nowhere.
Reading signposts from beyond.
As self-deceit completes defeat,
a cold ghost light is shone,
on Ron. On Ron.

He learned to sham at his father's knee.
He knew the power of story.
He lived by lies and fantasies,
and dreamed of fame and glory.

So travel the road but beware,
for he drew an arcane map.
His weak and dismal followers,
could see no fatal trap.

But in his inner circle,
his worth would soon reveal.
To those that rail and cavil,
he'd crush beneath his heel.

There's something in the cupboard, boy.
The sweetest scent of musk.
There's something in the cupboard, boy,
as warm and moist as lust.

To travel the road to nowhere.
It's not the smoothest ride.
To have all faith you must defer,
to a self-referring guide.

To travel the road to nowhere.
To avoid the rush and throng.
Unravel in the space of somewhere,
and sing a specious song.

There's something in the cupboard, boy.
It's got an evil breath.
There's something in the cupboard, boy,
that toys with fear and death.

To travel the road to nowhere.
And wield your magic wand.
A shuffling prisoner of despair,
when fragile hopes abscond.

To travel the road to nowhere.
A funeral dress you don.
All truth is moulded out there,
like a Sci-Fi writer's con.

There's something in the cupboard, boy.
You hear it scratch and whine.
There's something in the cupboard, boy,
both bedevilled and divine.

To travel the road to nowhere.
To follow a different sun.
To travel the road with due care,
not to end as you begun.

To travel the road to nowhere,
to life's grim denouement.
Be sighted by the cross hairs,
released from earthly bond.

To travel the road to nowhere.
Your face is drawn and wan.
Your self-belief masks hidden grief,
while the thief of time moves on.

A wild and windy day,
can only bring sad memories
of a life once fullfiled, bright and gay
...now empty

Moments within moments flash clear
through tear-filled lashes
Has it really been another year?
...still waiting

One day blurs into another
one heart beats slowly
air only serves to smother
...endless hours

You walked so quietly away
I hardly noticed
it was more than just another day
...brutal awakening

Glimmering ice, the winter's cold
has made me believe
death, though it be so bold
...waits dreamily

Reaching out, hold me near,
Let time slip our bonds,
my mouth moves, can't you hear?
...silent screaming

Misty colours fade from light
to dark, a quiet rest;
the world is taken from my sight
...Riding destiny

The crystal liquid was tinted by the blue moon
Autumn leaves chimed love that went too soon.
Silver circles etched in blue would grow-
grow upon the water- then fade and go.

Ten years have come and gone
but prints of you and bluemoon linger on.
Two shadows on blue tinted water that night
blended as one, long shadows painted by light.

I come here alone with the blue moon to think,
sitting upon old Emaline's bank.
I watch blue tinted silver circles shine
like the night of bluemoon when you were mine.

I feel in the palm of my hand,
cold pressure of a golden wedding band.
Into liquid flowing crystal, tinted blue, I fling
memories-- and the golden circled ring.

As if I could this day depart
without a tear wrung from your heart
but pain would wretch me should I spy
a single tear drop from your eye.

As though I could just walk away
unless I were to hear you say
one loving word, a silken rope,
'lest I should fall devoid of hope.

Heart to heart and mind to mind
how can such lovely eyes be blind ?
And yet 'tis clear they do not see
how very much you mean to me.

I'll hurry then through time and space
and cup my hands to hold your face;
my beating heart in constant race
when holding you in soft embrace

So, may I reach across the miles
to gaze with love upon the smiles
which give me hope that one day soon
we'll dance together 'neath the moon.

With, softly.. rain upon your face
glide on in gentle love's embrace
and passing by each silent place
come close to me and share my space.

The seed of love
you've planted
in my heart....
Where I thought
none could survive.

Tiny roots spring forth,
surging, searching
for nourishment.
Breaking apart
the hardness there.

With tender care
you water it....
and watch it grow.
The long, strong stem
bursts upward
Fighting for life, and
finding your light.

A bud, so fragile,
so determined
Swells into fullness
filling my breast.
Green healing leaves
reach out,
Unfolding one by one
erasing our sadness.

Soft, pink petals
as loving as you..
Envelope my heart
finding completion.
Glowing moon and stars
dim in comparison
To the blossom
created by our love.

Some days this world can turn insane,
And you may not always see...

That mountains may rise to divide us,
But nothing will take you from me...

The sun may fade and disappear,
And the sky may turn to grey,

But no matter what tomorrow holds,
I know we'll find a way.

Mixed signals you've given me
Cause pain in me each night.
I've tried to understand
Why things just can't be right.

It comes as no surprise.
I denied what was going on-
So much I want to say to you
Emotions hidden too long.

Along the way we built a wall,
Opportunities slipped away...
I wanted to open my heart to you
Yet, unsure of what you'd say.

I can never let another
Touch my heart the way you do.
So, wherever life may lead you,
Please remember... I'll always love you.

Although I feel us drifting apart
My feelings grow stronger still.
And if my heart must let you go
For your happiness -- I will.

I've learned that no matter how thin you slice it, there's always two sides.
I've learned that it's taking me a long time to become the person I want to be.
I've learned that it's a lot easier to react than it is to stop and think.
I've learned that you either control your attitude or it controls you.
I've learned that maturity has more to do with what types of experiences you've had, and what you've learned from them, than how many birthdays you've celebrated.
I've learned that it isn't enough to be forgiven by others. Sometimes you just have to learn how to forgive yourself.
I've learned that no matter how badly your heart is broken, the world won't stop for you.
I've learned that backgrounds and circumstances might have influenced who you are, but we are responsible for the people we become.
I've learned that you can't make somebody love you, all you can do is be somebody who can be loved.
I've learned that the word 'love' has many meanings, but it loses value when over-used and most importantly,
I've learned that no matter how old or wise you think you are, life never stops teaching.
