PESHAWAR: A suicide bomber blew himself up at hotel in Peshawar Tuesday killing at least 25 and wounded several.
The blast partly demolished the Marhaba Hotel building in the centre of the city. The hotel was popular with Afghans.
Different political and religious parties have condemned the blast. Provincial Chief Minister Akram Durrani announced 100,000 rupees (1,666 dollars) compensation for the families of the victims.
Out of 25 deceased, 23 were identified that also included two women and a child aged 7. The injured were shifted to Lady Reading Hospital where several were reported in a critical condition.
According to Information Minister Asif Iqbal Daudzai, police have found two severed legs. One leg bears a marking in Pashto language saying 'This will be fate of those who are American spies'.“
Police sources said the Afghan owner of the restaurant; his two sons and two other relatives as well as seven employees were among the dead.
Police said they had evacuated the hotel, which lies in a busy market area, cordoned off the scene and opened an investigation.
“It is terrorism but who did this or who is behind it, it is premature to comment," said Syed Kamal Shah, federal interior secretary.
He said that a team of federal investigations agency special group SIG has left for Peshawar to investigate the incident.

it sounds strange when a paki/muslim living in the usa says such things abt afghans living in pak
I personally do not have anything against people who are civilized. But for every civilized person, there is one who is not. Those are the people I have problem with.
Look at it either from the perspective of being a Muslim or Pakistani, you will find Afghans at fault. There are hundred of thousands of Afghani people who want to live peacefully in our country. I don't have any issues with them. But these people should help the govt root out the bad Afghanis amongst them.
