"All the pitches felt pretty good today," Bumgarner said. Cubs starter Jeff Samardzija (1-2) allowed two runs and seven hits, struck out five and walked one in six innings. In his previous start, he struck out a career-high 13 and allowed four runs in 5 2-3 innings in Atlanta. "You play a team like that, youve got to get ahead in the count," Samardzija said.
