Hockey legend Gordie Howe has partial paralysis and is having trouble speaking after suffering a stroke on Sunday.

now resting at his daughters home in Texas. He is able to recognize family
members and is aware of his surroundings. Basically, sometime in the early
morning on Sunday he suffered a pretty bad stroke, Howes son, Dr. Murray Howe
told the Detroit News. The right side of his body is very, very weak. Hes unable
to stand without help. Hes able to speak, but very, very difficult to speak. He
knows who he is. He knows the people around him. But it is very difficult for
him to get up and walk around. So he is pretty much confined to his bed right
now. So were just trying to keep him comfortable, and thats our goal, added
Howe, who heads the department of radiology at Toledo Hospital. The 86-year-old
Howe played 25 seasons with the Detroit Red Wings from 1946 to 1971, winning
four Stanley Cups, six Hart Trophies and six Art Ross Trophies. After being
inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1972, he came out of retirement in 1973
and later played for the Hartford Whalers in 1979-80, thus becoming the first

victories since a 6-3 start to the season and comes into league play off an
86-64 rout of William & Mary. UNC is 50-11 all-time in ACC openers, although

closing out a three-game homestand with this contest. Clemson has won two
straight and four of its last five games to sit at 8-4 on the year. The team has
knocked off Oakland (70-60) and Robert Morris (64-57) in the first two legs of
this homestand. Brownell will earn his 250th career victory with the teams next
win. UNC holds a huge 128-20 edge in the all-time series with Clemson, including
