?As it has said it would all summer, the http://www.authenticsaintsshop.com/shop-by-players-andrus-peat-jersey-c-1_2.html team activated Luck from the physically unable to perform (PUP) list prior to Saturday's 4 p.m. deadline. It remains unlikely the 27-year-old quarterback will play in the Sept. 10 opener against the Rams at Los Angeles.
"I would say again the odds are most likely he probably won't open up against the Rams," owner Jim Irsay said after Thursday's preseason finale against the Bengals. "But let me be clear about it: In our own minds, it's something that we haven't ruled out. We're going to see where he's at. It would be awesome."
Irsay also continued to preach patience, however, with the process. He emphasized this decision is about the next 12-to-14 years and that the Colts won't put the quarterback back on the field until he is 100 percent.
That still leaves veteran backup Scott Tolzien as the most likely starter for the season opener. But general manager Chris Ballard threw a bit of intrigue into the situation with a cut-down day trade.
Indianapolis sent disappointing former first-round wide receiver Phillip Dorsett to the New England Patriots for third-string quarterback Jacoby Brissett.
The 6-foot-4, 235-pound Brissett made two starts last season with Tom Brady suspended and Jimmy Garoppolo injured. He completed 34 of 55 attempts for 400 yards and rushed 16 times for 83 yards and one touchdown in three appearances, including a relief outing in the game in which Garoppolo was hurt.
Dorsett played in 26 games for the Colts over the past two seasons, catching 51 passes for 753 yards and three scores after being selected with the 29th overall pick in 2015. He also had five carries for 27 yards.
It was the second trade between Indianapolis and its long-time rival this year. The team sent tight end Dwayne Allen and a sixth-round draft pick to the http://www.authenticsteelersshop.com/shop-by-players-cobi-hamilton-jersey-c-2_73.html Patriots in March for a fourth-round draft pick in return.
Brissett joins Luck, Tolzien and Stephen Morris as quarterbacks on the initial 53-man regular-season roster. The Colts are expected to be active on the waiver wire Sunday as they peruse players cut from other teams.
Other than the trade, there were few surprises during Indianapolis' own cut-down process.
Two-year starting nose tackle David Parry was waived along with productive rotational defensive tackle T.Y. McGill. Veteran linebackers Akeem Ayers and Sean Spence were released, and running back Josh Ferguson and safety Tyvis Powell were waived-injured.
Undrafted wide receiver JoJo Natson -- who led the team in kickoff return, punt return and receiving yardage during the preseason -- also was waived after fumbling three times against the Bengals.
Cornerback Chris Culliver, inside linebacker Edwin Jackson and safety Earl Wolff IV were placed on season-ending injured reserve.
Three undrafted players made the initial roster, marking the 18th straight year at least one has been included. Punter Rigoberto Sanchez, center Deyshawn Bond and tight end Darrell Daniels made the cut this year.
The other players waived by the Colts were: cornerback Dante Blackmon, defensive tackle Josh Boyd, wide receiver Marvin Bracy, wide receiver Fred Brown, offensive tackle Fahn Cooper, safety Tyson Graham Jr., safety Lee Hightower, wide receiver Bug Howard, tight end Henry Kreiger-Coble, wide receiver Justice Liggins, running back De'Mard Llorens, running back Troymaine Pope, guard Adam Redmond, wide receiver Brian Riley, inside linebacker Darnell Sankey, wide receiver Valdez Showers, outside linebacker Garrett Sickles, defensive end Jhaustin Thomas, offensive tackle Arturo Uzdavinis, guard Terran Vaughn, quarterback Phillip Walker, safety Andrew Williamson and offensive tackle Andrew Wylie.
Outside linebacker Lavar Edwards, running back Daryl Richardson and cornerback Corey White were veterans who were released. They will Peyton Manning Womens Jersey not have to clear waivers before signing with another team.
Also, as expected, safety Clayton Geathers will start the season on PUP. He can not be activated -- or practice with the team -- for the first six weeks of the regular season.
In addition to any free-agent signings, the Colts also will establish a 10-man practice squad Sunday.
