The Jets didn
’t beat the Bills on http://www.officialvikingssale.com/shop-by-players-shamar-stephen-jersey-c-2_21.html Sunday, and they may not win a game all season, but at least Gang Green is beating the rest of the NFL when it comes to special teams. That has to count for something, right?
After one week, the Jets lead the league in terms of special teams efficiency after posting a 92.8 efficiency rating in the team
’s 21-12 season-opening loss to the Bills at New Era Field, ESPN revealed on Wednesday. The Eagles (87.2), Raiders (86.4) and Steelers (79.4) round out the top four teams in ESPN's special teams efficiency rankings. Unlike the Jets, all three teams won this week.
While the Jets
’ offense was nonexistent and the defense was torn apart by LeSean McCoy, the special teams unit shined in all facets.Chandler Catanzaro nailed both of his field goal attempts, including connecting on a 52-yarder. Lachlan Edwards averaged 49.5 yards per punt, third-best in the AFC. And Kalif Raymond was able to return a punt for 25 yards, despite initially muffing it.
The Jets also impressed in kick and punt return

With the Jets
’ inability to move the ball on offense and uninspiring defense (outside of Jamal Adams and Leonard Williams), they’ll most likely need to continue to produce on special teams if they want any hope of remaining competitive in games moving forward.
