Turner crushed a 3-run walk-off home run to beat the Chicago Cubs in Game 2 of the NLCS 4-1. Turner
’s big blow was actually the first walk-off home run for the Dodgers in the postseason since Kirk Gibson’s famous homer off Dennis Eckersley in the 1988 World Series. After the game, Turner, who grew up a Dodgers fan, said he considered pulling a Gibson fist/arm pump around the bases.
“
Growing up here, coming back signing with the Dodgers, I told everyone one of my earliest baseball memories I was four years old at my grandma’s house watching that game in ’88, seeing [Gibson] hit that homer. So it feels pretty cool,” Turner told TBS’ Sam Ryan after the game.“
I thought about doing the fist pump around the bases. We’ll wait til we get to the World Series for that hopefully.”The Dodgers now lead the series 2-0 against the
