TOKYO, Aug. 4 (Xinhua) -- A fire that broke out near the renowned Tsukiji fish market in central Tokyo was finally extinguished by firefighters on Friday

It took 60 fire engines and numerous firefighters to tackle the blaze, which burned for 15 hours before finally being brought under control Friday morning.

The blaze filled the fish market, a popular destination for locals and tourists, and the nearby area with thick smoke.
