ISLAMABAD: A classical musical evening is being organised in the Alliance Francaise gardens today at 8.30.
The artist is none other that Ustad Sharafat Ali Khan, son of the late Ustad Salamat Ali Khan. He intends to spellbind the audience with his ragas and ghazals and it hopes to be and enthralling event.
Sharafat Ali Khan is an exuberant vocal improviser well grounded in North Indian classical vocal music; he sings the Khayal, Tummri and Ghazal styles.
He is and internationally acclaimed musician and vocalist and continues to preserve the music, which has been handed down from father to son for the last 450 years.
It is my personal ambition and duty to maintain the traditions I have inherited, especially as I am the eldest of four sons" said Sharafat.
The concert is open to all members of the Alliance Francaise.
