This is a symbology that using only digits encodes information in an interleaved manner using a
high-density variable in digit pairs and the code must be a fixed (even) value
since most barcode scanners are setup to read an even number of
digits.
Discrete 2 of 5
A discrete 2 of 5 symbology is a variable of the Interleaved 2 of 5 code, but discrete code is not as compact as the code
that originated it. Like other derivate symbologies, Discrete 2 of 5 is rarely
used and very few barcode scanners can read this
symbology.
PDF417
This is a two dimensional bar code symbology that supports the entire ASCII 255-character set by means of stacked bar codes
of smaller size. The name comes for the popular Portable Data File (PDF) that
allows up to 2725 characters embedded in each bar code.
