"In view of realized and expected labor market conditions and inflation, the (Federal Open Market) Committee decided to raise the target range for the
federal funds rate to 1.25 to 1.5 percent," said the Fed in a statement after
concluding a two-day monetary policy meeting.
The central bank officials still envisioned three more rate hikes in 2018 Cheap Nike Vandal High , unchanged from their forecast in September, according to the latest quarterly projections released on Wednesday.
Fed officials continued to hold upbeat assessment of the overall economy and job market and remained concerned over the soft inflation reading.
"Information received since the Federal Open Market Committee met in November indicates that the labor market has continued to strengthen and that economic
activity has been rising at a solid rate," said the statement.

The jobless rate will further drop to 3.9 percent in 2018.
However, it pointed out the declines of overall and core inflation indexes this year and reiterated that it is monitoring inflation developments closely.
Fed officials slightly revised up their forecast for inflation in 2017 to 1.7 percent from September's projection of 1.6 percent.

During the meeting with China's Communist Party Secretary of Hunan Province Du Jiahao in Minsk Lukashenko said Belarus is interested increasing food

The president added Belarus is also interested in the successful implementation of the earlier-signed contacts and in particular those with
China's Zoomlion. He reminded a Belarusian-Chinese company was registered in the
Mogilev free economic zone in February 2017 to produce construction and
utilities special-purpose vehicles.
Lukashenko also said Belarus and Hunan Province need to develop closer ties in the fields of culture and education.

GABORONE, Sept. 16 (Xinhua) -- In an effort to promote sport and a healthy lifestyle among the residents of his city, Gaborone Mayor organized an inaugural
marathon for the city on Saturday morning, pulling a crowd of over 2 Cheap Nike Air Foamposite One ,000 runners.
Dubbed Gaborone Mayor's marathon, the event was deemed a big success by the runners and the organizers who expressed optimism that it will grow to become
one of the popular marathon events in the southern Africa region.
The marathon, which started and ended at the National stadium in Gaborone, had three categories being 10km Cheap Nike Hyperadapt 1.0 , 21km half marathon and the main event of 42km.
It took the runners through some of the city's major landmarks like the central business district.
Most fitness enthusiasts entered for the 10km marathon which pulled the largest crowd of runners while competitive runners were in the 21km and 42 km
races.
Local runners Dikgakgamatso Modisagape and Onneile Dintwe emerged victorious in the men and women categories of the main event respectively, bagging a prize
money of 50,000 Pula (5,000 U.S. dallars).
Speaking to Xinhua at the event Cheap Nike Air More Money , Gaborone Mayor Kagiso Thutwe said he believed the inaugural marathon has set a platform for an even bigger event next year and he
expected the marathon to be a big crowd puller in years to come.

He thanked the runners and the sponsors for making the marathon a success.
For his part, Botswana Athletics Association (BAA) spokesperson Ipolokeng Ramatshaba said as the country's athletics governing body, they are excited to
help the marathon grow and he hoped it will in the future attract runners from
all over the world to compete in Botswana.
