A delegation arrived in China on Friday to discuss trade opportunities and avenues for enhancing bilateral cooperation between the two countriesThe meetings with Chinese? counterparts will be led by governor State Bank of Pakistan and the finance secretary. Officials from the two countries will also discuss the economic package and currency swap agreement signed between Pakistan and China during Prime Minister Imran Khan’s recent visit.The two delegations will also elaborate on cooperation in the banking sector and discuss investment opportunities in connection with the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).During the prime minister’s visit, Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Kong Xuanyou told the media that the two sides had made it clear in principle that the Chinese government will provide necessary support and assistance to Pakistan in tiding over the current economic difficulties.
Pakistan secured a $6-billion aid package from Saudi Arabia and is also looking for another assistance of $6 billion from the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
