If using aPOP server, then you can easily download all incoming messages to your
computer. Select a particular email to make it stay on the server for as long
as you want. To free some space, follow below-mentionedsteps:
1.     Check thecurrent size of inbox folder.
2.     Removeolder emails in the inbox, especially the ones with large. You can sort emails
‘high to low’ to see heavy emails first.
3.     You canarchive emails if you want or remove them from the server. Those emails will
remain locally though.
4.     Check the sizeof inbox folder whether it is decreased or not. If not, then you can compress
the folder.
IMAP Server
To free upsome space in IMAP mail server, follow below-mentionedsteps:
1.     Get rid ofsome old emails in the folders, especially the ones with large size. You can
arrange emails in such a way that the emails with the largest size come at the top.
2.     If there isa file attached within the email and you no longer require it, then you can
remove that attachment, as attachments take up most of the space.
3.     Archivesome of the old emails, especially those which are not important anymore. But,
make sure that the emails are not moved to another folder on the IMAP server. Archive the emails under ‘localfolders’ account.
