The modern global automotive industry is subject to two trends: almost total electrification and the replacement of unpromising models for cars that are in demand. So, a couple of days ago, it became known that
Volkswagen would abandon its two Golf station wagons in favor of a universal crossover. That car from the SUV showed almost half of sales in the United States. Now the information has appeared in the media that the German brand has conceived to bring to the market a new sports crossover, ideal for driving in the condition of the city.
For this, the brand is going to launch a new assembly line at its plant in Spain. The launch of the production of new items starts in 2021.
About this cross-country so far little is known. It is expected that the crossover will be built on a modular MQB platform, and a hybrid or a completely electric power plant will be responsible for its performance. Other technical details and even the name of the new sports cross are kept secret.
