Derrick Gunn: Nick Foles may be in Jacksonville, but he’s still the same guy -
NBCSP“No. 9 stays in Philadelphia. That numbers means a lot to me and it
pertains to that city. No. 7 was always my childhood number. It was always a
number that I loved. I wore it in high school. I wore it in middle school. I
always wanted to get it back. And unfortunately when I played at college and I
played in the NFL, like, the number was never available. So this was the first
time where the number was available. Everyone thought I was going to go back to
my No. 9 but it was a great opportunity for me to wear a number that meant a lot
to me and leave another number that means a lot to me in the city that I
love.”16 most important players to watch during the Eagles’ second preseason
game - BGNMack Hollins - #16. I’m not sure if Hollins will be playing but he has
been practicing in 11-on-11 so it seems like there’s a chance he’ll suit up. If
he does, it’ll be Hollins’ first real action since the Eagles’ first preseason
game against the Steelers last summer (August 9, 2018). Hollins hasn’t logged an
actual game reception since the Eagles’ Divisional Round win over the Falcons
(January 13, 2018). As it currently stands, I don’t think Hollins is in much
danger of getting cut. It’d still be good for him to eliminate that doubt by
making some plays — whether on offense or special teams — and staying
healthy.Eagles-Jaguars Preseason Preview - BGN RadioBrandon Lee Gowton &

questions with Bleeding Green Nation: Preseason Week 2 - Big Cat CountryIt’s
Week 2 of the preseason, which means we are one step closer to regular season
football! The Jacksonville Jaguars and Philadelphia Eagles square off on
Thursday night at TIAA Bank Field for a (meaningless) contest. Nick Foles is
unlikely to play against his former team, but many of this week’s storylines
have revolved around Foles’ relationship with the franchise he helped win a
Lombardi Trophy, and a city that will forever love him. For more on the Eagles,
I reconnected with Brandon Lee Gowton, managing editor of Bleeding Green Nation—
SB Nation’s source for all things Philadelphia EaglesEagles appear to be
shutting down Carson Wentz for their preseason games, as they should -
PhillyVoiceCons of sitting out the preseason: A season ago Womens Nelson Agholor Jersey , the Los Angeles Rams opted to sit a healthy Jared Goff for the entirety of the preseason. In a piece for the LA Times, Sam
Farmer spoke with a number of ex-quarterbacks and coaches about that decision.
The common theme was that practice settings can’t simulate the speed of the game
in the preseason. (The Rams started 8-0 in 2018, and scored at least 33 points
in each of their first five games.)PS Game 2 Preview - Iggles BlitzQBs – Cody
Kessler certainly ain’t Dan Marino, but it sure would be nice if he could play
at a functional level. Last week wasn’t good. Nate Sudfeld’s injury gave Kessler
a lot more reps in practice so that should help him to be better prepared this
time out. Kessler has to show the Eagles something. Anything. If not, they have
to start thinking about bringing in a QB.‘He was a good barista’: Nick Foles’
little-known legacy with the Eagles? Coffee. - The Athletic“I miss all the
coffee he made us,” Carson Wentz said in the spring. “He was a good barista.”
Foles’ devotion to coffee, and specifically Bulletproof coffee, has become
legendary in the Eagles’ building. He was almost evangelical about it, brewing
coffee for teammates and coaches and sharing the health benefits. (Foles
officially partnered with Bulletproof 360 Inc. in July.) Mike Groh used to find
it waiting on his desk in the morning. Brandon Brooks had a care package sent to
him after Foles left for Florida. “There’s definitely a lot of coffee around the
room that Nick played a big part in,” quarterbacks coach Press Taylor said.
These weren’t coffee runs on the way to work. Rather, Foles took to making the
coffee himself. There’s a station in the quarterback meeting rooms with the
supplies Foles needed for the task. He would brew about eight ounces of coffee,
add a tablespoon of unsalted butter, a tablespoon of brain octane MCT oil and
collagen protein, and blend it all Zach Ertz Jersey , according to Nate Sudfeld. Zach Ertz called it a “full-on process,” joking that he didn’t know how much film they were able to watch while
crafting the coffee.Eagles’ Sidney Jones has health, swagger back entering Year
3 - ESPNSure enough, Payton dialed up a Mark Ingram run right at Jones on the
Saints’ first offensive play. Ingram barreled through an attempted tackle by
Jones and broke off a 38-yard run. Jones was playing in his first game following
an extended absence because of the hamstring injury. Payton predicted Jones
wouldn’t hold up, and he was right. Jones aggravated the injury and was knocked
out of the game. Its secondary decimated, Philly was crushed 48-7 -- the worst
defeat of a defending Super Bowl champion in NFL history. ”I didn’t use that as
my motivation, but I’m glad you brought that up. That’s another thing [I can
use],” Jones said after a training camp practice this summer. “For me, it’s all
about personal growth right now. That’s the time of year I’m in right now. So I
appreciate you bringing that up for me. But I mean, good game plan for them.
They were smart about it.”Long list of players to watch in preseason game No. 2
- PE.comJohnathan Cyprien, S: Let’s see if Johnathan Cyprien continues to push
for a roster spot. He did a good job last week after having been in, what, three
practices? The Eagles love their depth at safety and Cyprien is part of that
picture at the moment. He’ll get some reps in this game.Andre Dillard’s
pass-blocking prowess shined through in the Eagles’ first preseason game -
PFFHis work as a run blocker was a little bit more up-and-down, producing a PFF
run-blocking grade of 62.3. On 2nd-and-6 with 6:50 left in the second
quarter http://www.eagleslockerroom.com/authentic-fletcher-cox-jersey , he didn’t get enough on Tennessee Titans linebacker Daren Bates initially, with
the defender getting around him quickly but not finishing the play with a
tackle. He had some nice moments in the running game too though, including
working off of a double team and getting to linebacker Rashaan Evans at the
second level on 1st-and-10 with 8:30 left in the first quarter. All things
considered, it was a strong debut for the first-round draft pick and, while they
will be hoping that they don’t need to rely on him to play too much as a rookie,
his performance Thursday night should give them confidence that he could do a
solid job if called upon in year one.Amari Cooper dealing with ligament issue in
foot, unlikely to participate in preseason - CBS SportsThe three-time Pro Bowler
left practice early on Aug. 3 with what was described by the Dallas Cowboys as a
heel bruise, and head coach Jason Garrett had hopes on Aug. 6 that Cooper would
return to practice that afternoon. He’s since missed every practice and the
preseason opener against the San Francisco 49ers, however, and new information
points to an issue that may be more concerning than a simple bruised heel. The
injury to Cooper is reportedly “more of a ligament thing,” team insider Mickey
Spagnola told 105.3FM the Fan on Aug. 13, which would explain why extra rest is
needed. A source with knowledge of the situation tells me it is indeed closer to
what Spagnola suggests versus what the team originally stated it was, and
although a formal diagnosis has not been revealed -- the situation does warrant
a higher level of concern. With the season opener against the New York Giants
still some weeks away, though Womens Jake Elliott Jersey , it’s not yet time to panic, either. As it stands, the situation sits somewhere in between those two points of emotion.7 young
quarterbacks who could threaten the NFL’s passing records one day - SB
NationCarson Wentz has the talent, coaching, and front office support — he just
needs to stay healthy. Over the past two seasons, he has missed eight games for
the Philadelphia Eagles due to a torn ACL in 2017 and a back injury at the end
of 2018. When he’s on the field, he plays like a top quarterback. Since 2017,
he’s averaged 265.4 yards per game and has passed for 54 touchdowns. If those
stats were extrapolated over 16 games, he’d be averaging 4,247 yards and 36
touchdowns per season. Those numbers are undoubtedly great, but Wentz hasn’t
played a full season since his rookie year in 2016. He has yet to actually hit
4,000 yards in a season even though he’s more than capable of that. It’s
impossible to predict how many games Wentz will play in the coming years. If he
can stay on the field, his name should be near the top of NFL record books when
it’s all said and done....Social Media Information:BGN Facebook Page: Click here

Doug Pederson and General Manager Howie Roseman have a great working
relationship, and Pederson says he’s not going to wreck things by seeking more
personnel authority.“I was hired to be the head football coach Derek Barnett Jersey , not the general manager,” Pederson said, via NJ.com. “I was hired to teach football. Howie was hired to do the job that he
does. . . . There has to be great communication and great dialogue between those
departments: coaching and scouting.”Pederson says he knows his own strengths and
his own weaknesses, and watching a college player and seeing how he’ll translate
to the NFL isn’t his strength. So Pederson trusts Roseman and the scouts he
oversees to do that job.“That’s not my expertise. I can sit here and watch tape
and write a report, and say ‘this guy can do this, this, and this.’ And until we
get him in the building and coach him up, you just don’t know. You lean on so
much on our scouting department,” Pederson said. For the Eagles, that’s a
refreshing change from Pederson’s predecessor, Chip Kelly, who demanded more and
more personnel authority — and ran the roster into the ground in the process.
Pederson is happy to stick with coaching, Roseman is building the roster and the
results speak for themselves.
