I wonder why you used a less flattering pic of Ash when comparing her with Zara. Insecurity? But even in this pic Ash looks 10 times better beacuse she has so much expression and depth on her face. Where as Zara looks very wooden.
Aishwarya Rai is an all rounder, her personality, charisma as well as looks are beautiful. She has a reserved yet gentle and creative manner and grace which makes her fit into any role she's given. She was Miss World 2004 afterall
In all the interviews I've seen of Zara, she's self centered and arrogant. All she talks about is how amazing and different her new movie is when every one knows it's going to be a fabricated version of what's been processed a million times before.
At least Ash has the guts to try different scripts, like Shabd, if it isn't well received in the box office than that's because her audiance found the story too far away from the feel good norm. Her performance was ACE in the movie, she has that pressence which is larger than life.
So in conclusion Ash over Zara hands down. In every department
offcourse ash is better 
.infact zara ne itni moovies bhi nahin ki jitni ash ne ki hai.so u cant compare in this respect.
