@SD
well i will, inshallah. but i am >1000km away from my books now a days. i have a better reference for u now.

[55:30] Of Him do beg all that are in the heavens and the earth. Everyday He reveals himself in a different state.

and i am witness of todays shan.

DS,

I am sorry to say that the word "Sha'an" of the ayah from suratur Rahman is not the same as "shaan" in Urdu or Persion. In Arabic, it means "to engage / engaged". Translation of the first part of the Ayah is correct. It is the second part where it is not correctly translated. It makes greater sense when understood in the context of the whole Ayah, "Whosoever is in the heavens and on the earth begs of Him. Every day, that is His engagement (listening to and responding to calls of His creations all at the same time).

Allah knows of his words better than his creations.

@SD

thanks for the other perspective. does it clash to other translation? and its true ke arabic words ke buhat se matlab urdu me nahi liye jasakte, like "khatam", too.

You bet!
Allah is not an imposter who reveals His state differently every day!
Posted 17 Jun 2005

so u think that Allah is static? i think imposter is the wrong word.
"HE is in defferent states" must not mean that HE is changing himself. it could also mean that the person who is in contact with HIM is always seeing the new sides of HIM, so HE appears to change himself. like the sun. it changes itself everyday. its different in the morning and in the evening and in the noon. but actually its the earth who is changing itself more. well sun is changing itself, too. just a sample.

Allah doesnt reveal his state differently everyday

its our limited vision/mind which can capture only one of his qualities at a time

For God's sake, don't attribute to Allah you don't have any knowledge about. We only know about Allah what he revealed to us. Allh describes himself in the Quran as, "Allahu nurus samawat-e-wal Ard" -- he is the nur of the heavens and the earth.

When Prophet SAW was inquired about what is Allah ...?
His response was there is nothing, absolutely nothing like Him. No one can percieve him.

No one can see or experience all blessings and powers of Allah. Human only can experience what is being bestowed upon them but they can never be a fish which lives in the bed of the ocean and recieve bounties that they recieve.

So let us leave it as it is.
