The much-hyped film 'Koi tujh sa kahaan' premiered in cinemas across the country on Friday. The movie marks the debut of Reema as a director in Lollywood. It could prove to be a turning point in her acting career, but it is also expected to give a boost to Moamar Rana who has also been waiting for a big hit for sometime.
Reportedly the viewers response to the film is good. The film has been released in two cinemas in Lahore. The first show at the Metropole cinema had a full house. The tickets opened at Rs 150 for gallery and Rs 100 for stall. Another movie 'Zidi Rajput', which was also released on the same day, opened with tickets being sold for Rs 80 and Rs 60. Only the writer of the film Khalilur Rehman Qamar watched the 'Koi tujh sa kahaan's first show. A number of people related to filmmaking including some producers and promoters were present.
He is playing the male lead. Veena Malik, UK born Indian model Simran Kauchak, film legend Nadeem Baig, Irfan Khoosat, Babrak Shah and Malaysian artiste Nasir Hassan are also included in the cast. Late Amjad Bobby was the music director while Bollywood playback singers have sung the songs.
Talking to The Nation Plus a visibly jubilant Moamar said that he was overjoyed to receive the positive feedback of film. "I have acted in a number of movies with Reema including 'Uff yeh bewwian' of Syed Noor and 'Eik pagal si larki' of Altaf Hussain. But the experience of working with her was a little different this time. Perhaps it was so because she was also the film's director.
"Since it was her first film, she was tense at times. But the good thing about her was that she was always open to suggestions. She would always get a second opinion when she felt the need to do so. Altogether it was a good team effort and everyone worked to the best of his abilities," he said.
Momi said that the film was shot in two spells of 20 and 25 days in Malaysia. "I remember an incident when the camera fell and the lens was broken. The work was stopped for two days only but we were all tense. The camera was not much damaged but we heaved a sigh of relief when the news came that it had been repaired. Reema kept her cool throughout the incident," he said.
"I have learnt to be patient. I am not in a rush to take up films.
I am signing only big budget films. This is the reason that I am acting in only one other flick - 'Kabhi pyar na karna'," he explained.
Besides films Momi is also playing male lead in Sajjad Gul's 36-episode play 'Thora thora pyar' opposite model ZQ. Abid Ali, Faisal Rehman, Shafi Muhammad and Suneita Marshall also star in this play to be shot in Dubai.
