The DAXindex is the benchmark index for the German stock market. The
dax index historical chart tracks 30 selected German blue chips traded on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, which represent about 80 percent of the market capitalization quoted in Germany. The index is in free float and has a base value of 1,000 as of December 31, 1987.
