Off the Grid is a mainstay of the slotxo San Francisco culinary scene. The event company, founded by Matt Cohen in 2010, has created a neighborhood pop-up festival that focuses on entrepreneurial food trucks. It is part of the vanguard in the food truck movement. It is designed to open the path to restaurants for young, ambitious and diverse chefs with innovative ideas about food and food enthusiasts.

Over the years, festivals have gained immense popularity. (I remember trying to go more than once and realizing that people had more patience to line up than I did.) And Off the Grid itself expanded to catering to more events. My career is based on the idea that food is a source of comfort at every moment,” says Cohen.

The company's first transformation began in 2017 when wildfires such as Sonoma and Napa wildfires spread across California. Frontline firefighters who operate at times in remote areas of the state. Often forced to eat what soldiers dubbed MREs, or Meals Ready-to-Eat.
