As players progress in the main New World story, Charity Douglas will give them a quest called Ship History. At various points in this search, fans are instructed to look for records and remains of shipwrecks that may not be immediately recognizable. Fortunately, finding shipwreck records and remains in the New World is easy, and this guide shows how players should go about it.
New World: Search for shipwreck records and wrecks
The first time players are instructed to search for shipwrecks as part of the Ship's Tale quest, they should go about 250 meters northwest of Charity Douglas. When fans go ashore at this location, the quest objective should be updated and they will now have to interact with three books in the area. While the location of these books should be marked right on the New World map, the video below will help players struggling to track them down.
After interacting with these books, fans will again be asked to search for shipwreck records and parts of the wreck and travel south-southwest from their current location. Moving in this direction will take New World players to another island, and the story between the ships should be updated as they approach. This time around, fans will be looking for a locker that is shaped like a chest that sits on the deck of the shipwreck.
At this point, players will be sent back to the wreck to search for records and parts of the wreck, and this will actually be the last time. To complete this step, MMORPG fans should simply walk southeast until they are under the "J" in "Jawbone Cove" on the map and then collect two flags from the Bounty of Boehm. Upon completion of the game, players can return to Charity Douglas to complete the ship's story and receive their rewards.
More details on these rewards: Fans who complete this quest will receive a Treated Wooden Bow, 330 XP, and 59 New World Coins. These players can also continue their journey on the island of Aeternum in the New World by either accepting another main quest or completing a side quest or optional activity. Regardless of what type of content players choose next, they will be able to use their new bows if they wish, which make it easier to maneuver while dealing damage.
