More Info on the film Jhoomer
The 'Shahji' of Lollywood Syed Noor is fast completing work on his next film, titled 'Jhoomar'. Quite like his recent blockbuster 'Majajan', this film is also a tragic love story.
Noor revealed that 'Jhoomar' was a love triangle, like 'Majajan', again. Hero Moammar Rana falls for heroine Saima while Alina plays second fiddle. Momi is shown to come from a 'wadera' family while Saima is the daughter of a poor village 'hakeem' (played by Irfan Khoosat).
As with all his films, the story of 'Jhoomar' is scripted by Noor himself while wifey Rukhsana Noor takes care of the lyrics department.
This scribe met with Lollywood's most prolific director at Shabab Studios where a huge set of a haveli had been constructed for 'Jhoomar'. Saima, Durdana Rehman, Alina, Najma Begum and some junior actors were also present on the set.
What is worth a mention is the very disciplined way in which the entire crew was working. It painted a completely unlike-Lollywood picture. Syed Noor was holding the fort, while his unit members were all order and organisation.
Talking about the sequence that he was shooting, Noor said that Momi had married Saima against the wishes of his family and had now brought her to his haveli for the very first time. Interestingly, their entry is timed with sister-in-law Durdana Rehman introducing the family members to her younger sibling (Alina) for a prospective match for Momi. Saima, obviously, has to face the wrath of the scheming women in the house who hate her very being.
As just as the shot was okayed, the cast members involved in the scene held their 'Saimaji' in a loving embrace.
Saima said that 'Shahji' was working very hard in order to prove that 'Majajan' was not a fluke.
"Inshallah, this film too will make history," she said.
Momi was not needed for the sequence, hence he was not present on the set. It may be mentioned here that Noor has earlier worked with the heartthrob of the film industry on their recordbreaking 'Chooriyan'. 'Jhoomar' is, therefore, special in that it brings the team of the phenomenally successful Punjabi film of the late '90s.
Alina, whose character in 'Jhoomar' has shades of grey, also spoke to Metro about the film. She said that she was proud of the fact that she was working in Noor's camp, and hoped that the film would prove a milestone in her career.
It may be mentioned here that Alina has not had a scintillating track record. Despite being a trained dancer and a pretty face, this young lady has failed to make her place in Lollywood - thanks mainly to her films bombing at the box office. This, despite the fact that at least two of the three movies she has done so far were big-banner productions - Shamim Ara's 'Buddha Bigra Jaae' and Pervez Kaleem's 'Pehla Sajda'.
Noor said that he had planned to release 'Jhoomar' on the auspicious occasion of Eidul Fitr this year.
