I am heading out tomorrow from California to Vitoria
1) Any potential Gotchas that I should be aware of at immigration back in US and at Brazil (questions like what did you go there for ) I am guessing sharing the reason being HT should be fine (FYI I am a US Citizen)

2) How did you guys spend time in Vitoria the days after the surgery - looks like the guidance is it to avoid sun.
Thanks again for your help so far

Alright ! The beginning to an amazing journey with .

1. No gotchas. Medical tourism counts as tourism. No need to say anything other than touring/vacation.

2. I stayed several days in Vitoria. I woke up, ate hotel buffet breakfast, went to clinic for cleaning (doesn’t take long), and spent the rest of the day resting, reading a lot, watching TV/movies, and eating. Try to just relax and figure out what works for you to be comfortable while protecting your head. I was not active at all while in Vitoria.

I think immigration shouldn’t be too much of a hassle. In Brazil, just be upfront if they ask why you’re there—saying it’s for medical reasons is totally fine. Coming back to the U.S., they might ask about your trip, but something simple like “medical procedure” or “tourism” usually does the job. Just make sure all your documents are sorted. If you needed anything notarized or legalized, it’s worth getting that handled before your trip. London Apostille Services Ltd can help with that kind of thing, which makes it way easier.
