Velvet Tears

Ice cold
As I sit in my head
Thinking about what I didn’t do.
Things I should’ve done
How I could’ve been better to you

These things that roll down my cheek
They say words
That I cannot speak.

Tears that have fallen for you
Pain that consumes me inside
It hurts so much
I cannot hide.
Cannot hide from the dark thoughts
That come back to haunt me everyday.

These tears are made of velvet for you
So soft, yet so cold

Grasping onto a feeling that I cannot hold

I’m not blind, yet I can’t see
