Waves Of Emotion

As a tidal wave of emotions
rushes over my inner soul
it envelopes all my senses
the riptide takes it's toll

I feel I am slowly drowning
in this sea full of misery
where is the peaceful ocean
show me the sea of tranquility

My emotional strength captured
continues to float further away
hopelessness becomes victorious
happiness somehow drifts away

The sound of the waves crashing
echoes on the brink of insanity
truth has blurred with fiction
filling my mind with hostility

At last the calming of the ocean
the waves return me to the shore
as the ocean loses it's grip on me
the tide ebbs and flows once more
