When A Child Dreams

Oh land afar of make believe,
bedtime story of child sweet.
As trumpets glare in setting sun,
amid childhood dreams replete.

Of mermaids in the salty brine.
upon the rocks the sirens call.
Of knights bold and dragons green,
and maidens kept in towers tall.

In tales of elves and others small,
on gossamer wings fairies fly.
Chase rainbows to find our dreams,
soar like an eagle in the sky.

A land darkened by an eclipse,
a falling star to wish upon.
So many dreams to be followed,
within our slumber and beyond.
