A soul to bear, a mountain to climb,
emotions spill out within my rhyme.
Many bridges to cross, some to burn,
pain to forget and lessons to learn.
Hodgepodge of words from which to create,
touching your heart, meeting by fate.
Words have no meaning is quite absurd,
some cut like a knife, so I have heard.
To follow my dreams, and fantasies,
typing out hidden thoughts that please.
Ideas drift about, as I slumber,
battling sorrows that still encumber.
Encased in upper and lower size,
letters say much more then we realize.
Through their connection we learn to speak,
helping us to find the dreams we all seek.
Within my poems are my love and hope,
and my faith in God who helps me cope.
Words really do matter, yes they do,
the words I write are my gift to you.
