Jackie Chan and Jet Li get together for the first time on the screen to make a fantasy adventure film. Given the talents of both actors, this is a good blend of action and humor. The film is based on the ancient Chinese legend of the Monkey king who is a master a of gong-fu, magic and wisdom.

The film starts with a American teenager(Michael Angarano) finding an ancient artifact in a pawnshop. Being a kung-fu enthusiast he takes it. But the artifact, which is in fact the favorite weapon of the Monkey king, transports him to ancient China. Here, he meets Golden Sparrow(Yifei Liu), an orphan girl whose parents were killed by the Warlord Jade(Collin Chou). He then meets Lu Yan(Jackie Chan) who is a master of Kungfu and the Monkey King(Jet Li). Together, they set off on a mission to bring down the Jade Warlord and free the people of his kingdom from his cruel ways. Director Rob Minkoff has made some fantastic films in the past like Stuart Little and Lion King. This should be a worthy addition to the list
