Harken back to a year ago,
seems like only yesterday.
A little stronger and wiser,
sunshine has come to stay.

Attained new found fortitude,
through struggle persevered.
Held onto hope and my faith,
when dark clouds appeared.

No longer will I feel doubtful,
that I am not good enough.
I deserve to be happy again,
of sadness I've had enough.

Loved ones that I have lost,
broken hearts, seen my share.
A new year, a new beginning,
time to say farewell to despair.

What lies ahead, I do not know,
it will be better then the past.
I am worthy of true happiness,
find joy and love that will last.

So I say, Happy New Year,
singing out, auld lang syne.
New day dawns on the horizon,
leaving all my worries behind.
