The Assault Of Stone

Compelling, ridged, lies in wait.
A heart of stone never bleeds.
Crushes warm heart freely given,
ignors loving heart that pleads.

Unpenetrated like a granite wall,
stands guard, never opens to feel.
Stone heart, cold as ice in winter,
inflicting wounds that never heal.

Goodness, sweetness devoured,
the assault comes painfully slow.
Trapped in the silence of darkness,
love never had a chance to grow.

No winner found within two hearts,
one cold, stopped beating long ago.
Other racked with sorrow and pain,
shattered by the one she loves so.
