Hall of Fame ballot, joining steroid-tainted holdovers Barry Bonds, Roger

(57.8), Tim Raines (52.2), Lee Smith (47.8) and Curt Schilling (38.8). Making
their first appearances on the ballot, Clemens was at 37.6 per cent, Bonds at
36.2 and Sosa at 12.5. McGwire received 16.9 per cent on his seventh try.
Players remain on the ballot if they receive at least 5 per cent support and can
stay in the voting for up to 15 years. Other returnees include Don Mattingly,
Edgar Martinez, Fred McGriff, Rafael Palmeiro, Alan Trammell and Larry Walker.
