One Texas town found a new way to celebrate D'Onta Foreman.
Texas City, Foreman's hometown, officially named July 8, 2017 as "D'Onta Foreman Day" this weekend and hosted a celebration for the former Longhorn and Stingarees running back. Foreman even received a proclamation from the mayor.
Foreman spent his high school career at Texas City High School where the amassed 4,382 rushing yards and 61 touchdowns. With the Stingarees, Foreman become a second-team 4A All-State player and even shared the District 24-4A MVP honors with his brother, Armanti, after his senior season in 2013.
While an often overlooked three-star

He went on to spend three seasons with Texas, recording 2,782 rushing yards, which puts him at No. 9 on the school's all-time rushing list. This past season, he won the Doak Walker Award, given to the nation's top running back, before getting selected by his hometown Houston Texans in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft.
Now as Foreman prepares for his upcoming NFL training camp, Texas City decided to have a day dedicated to the hometown star.
