The Giants continued their youth http://www.officialpiratessale.com/tony-watson-jersey-c-1_16.html movement in the backfield by selecting running back Wayne Gallman in the fourth round of the draft. Gallman was Clemson's leading rusher in each of the past three seasons, helping the Tigers win the national championship last season. The 6-foot, 210-pounder is expected to complement 2016 fifth-round pick Paul Perkins.
As a fourth-round pick, Gallman is assured of a roster spot. The bigger question is if he'll be able to earn carries. Perkins is the No. 1 back and Shane Vereen is entrenched as the third-down back. It will likely come down to a battle between Gallman, Orleans Darkwa and Shaun Draughn to be the third back in the rotation.
What happened in 2016
Gallman had 1,133 yards http://www.officialredsprostore.com/drew-storen-jersey-c-1_9.html rushing (4.9 yards per carry) and 17 touchdowns in his redshirt junior season. He had 51 fewer carries than in 2015 when he set Clemson's single-season record with 1,527 yards. Gallman accepted the reduced workload to help the team and it paid off with a national title.
What to expect in 2017
Expect Gallman's rookie season to start like Perkins' did. Perkins saw limited offensive action early in the season, mostly working on special teams. Perkins eventually assumed a bigger role because veteran Rashad Jennings was ineffective. Gallman may not get the same opportunity if Perkins is able to maintain the strong form he Billy Hamilton Womens Jersey showed late last season. Gallman should be a staple on special teams as a rookie. Anything more than that should be considered a bonus.
