i was watching bits and peices of the sonu nigam concert (in karachi) on pay per view the other day, cause i heard fariha pervaiz was in attendence. anyhow... he sang this one song with a qawaali singer (sabri). in my opinion, its a shame that this qawaali singer was cheered, while a few years back the late great NFAK was bashed by people for doing the same thing (mixing qawaali with modern music).

i hope that, that qawaal who sang with sonu nigam was not among those traditionalists who were against nusrat. cause its thanks 2 NFAK that he and every other qawaali singer is invited to such big shows. he paved the way 4 these unknown qawaals. 2 bad they didn't realize/appreciate it when he was alive.
