Burberry’s Gosha Rubchinskiy capsule collection is almost here
Russian designer Gosha Rubchinskiy and Burberry have collaborated on a capsule collection reinterpreting the icons of the British heritage brand.
Rubchinskiy has put his streetwear spin on the iconic Burberry check, trench
coat, car coat, Harrington jacket, bucket hat, and more. “Burberry has always
symbolised the epitome of classic British style to me,” Rubchinskiy said in a
press release. “Their timeless pieces are the perfect balance to our modern
streetwear creating a great mix.” Think Rubchinskiy’s initials embroidered on a
trench coat and caps with detachable ear flaps.
In September 2017, Burberry enlisted Rubchinskiy to photograph British youth in Burberry designs as part of an exhibition titled ‘Here We Are’ at the Old
Sessions House in London. The exhibit was co-curated by Burberry president and
chief creative officer Christopher Bailey and photographer Alasdair McLellan to
coincide with Burberry’s autumn/winter ’17/’18 show.
The capsule collection, Gosha x Burberry, will go on sale globally on January 6. In Australia, you’ll be able to find it exclusively at Burberry’s Chadstone
store in Melbourne.
