The Road to Nowhere

To travel the road to nowhere.
The soul's dark amazon.
Eternal peace is anywhere,
the mind might set upon.

To travel the road to nowhere.
To know you're really gone.
And when you finally get there,
to find your god is Ron.

There's something in the cupboard, boy.
There's something in the dark.
There's something in the cupboard, boy,
that leaves a lasting mark.

There's something in the cupboard, boy.
Old secrets gather dust.
There's something in the cupboard, boy,
that reeks decay and must.

To travel the road to nowhere.
Reading signposts from beyond.
As self-deceit completes defeat,
a cold ghost light is shone,
on Ron. On Ron.

He learned to sham at his father's knee.
He knew the power of story.
He lived by lies and fantasies,
and dreamed of fame and glory.

So travel the road but beware,
for he drew an arcane map.
His weak and dismal followers,
could see no fatal trap.

But in his inner circle,
his worth would soon reveal.
To those that rail and cavil,
he'd crush beneath his heel.

There's something in the cupboard, boy.
The sweetest scent of musk.
There's something in the cupboard, boy,
as warm and moist as lust.

To travel the road to nowhere.
It's not the smoothest ride.
To have all faith you must defer,
to a self-referring guide.

To travel the road to nowhere.
To avoid the rush and throng.
Unravel in the space of somewhere,
and sing a specious song.

There's something in the cupboard, boy.
It's got an evil breath.
There's something in the cupboard, boy,
that toys with fear and death.

To travel the road to nowhere.
And wield your magic wand.
A shuffling prisoner of despair,
when fragile hopes abscond.

To travel the road to nowhere.
A funeral dress you don.
All truth is moulded out there,
like a Sci-Fi writer's con.

There's something in the cupboard, boy.
You hear it scratch and whine.
There's something in the cupboard, boy,
both bedevilled and divine.

To travel the road to nowhere.
To follow a different sun.
To travel the road with due care,
not to end as you begun.

To travel the road to nowhere,
to life's grim denouement.
Be sighted by the cross hairs,
released from earthly bond.

To travel the road to nowhere.
Your face is drawn and wan.
Your self-belief masks hidden grief,
while the thief of time moves on.

Valley echoes resounding peal,
within the pews, the members kneel.
For all faith comes from deep within,
first step, let salvation begin.
Strength found in friends and those akin,
to right the wrongs that might have been.
God's forgiveness is found herein,
with repentence of all our sin.
Holy Spirit guide and reveal,
faith and love will help us to heal.

October fun and festivities,
Crimson, gold leaves dot the leas.
Childhood laughter upon the piles,
colorful leaves bring endless smiles.

How soon we forget as memory fades,
out of the blue, thoughts of you invade.
Our eyes first met in the autumn haze,
stood there lost within a lover's gaze.

We knew that moment what had begun,
leaves fell around us neath the fall sun.
The air crisp, put my arm around you,
falling more and more in love with you.

Rustling sound hid my heart beating fast,
how I wanted this day with you to last.
A lifetime of love began with a glance,
on brisk autumn day we met by chance.

October, a month of pumpkins and frost,
branches turn bare and beauty is lost.
My vision of you overshadows the gray,
when I think back to that October day.

~tasha~ says
Faint echoes of angel voices,
take flight on whispering wind.
Each new day awakes, rejoices,
heavenly world continually spin.
Your free will unbound by choices,
repel all temptations and sin.

Life's paths brings us confusion,
searched for the right road.
Devil disguised mid illusions,
leaves us to carry a heavy load.
Savior instills love with infusions,
reigns down sage from His abode.

Sing all angels in sweet accord,
go forth, echo words of the Lord.

~tasha~ says
Night grows cold, fire flickers,
await spring's return.
Branch taps on frosted pane,
embers slowly burn.

A chill of bone reminds me,
north winds are brutal.
Old man winter comes to call,
escape seems futile.

A looming darkness prowls,
overshadows the moon.
A bitter cold, frost bite night,
arrives much too soon.

Upon bosom I rest and lay
Held in such a loving way

Memories linger tenderly,
of lullabys sung so lovingly.

How can the luminous moon greet the darkling night
sky?
How can the crashing waves beat against the rocky shore?
Until my heart has oneness with your own,
I cannot feel a part of this world until we meet!

How can the morning dove call to the cooling East wind?
How can majestic mountains reach high to the lofty heavens?
Until my lips have union with yours of such beauty,
I cannot be satisfied for your kiss that takes my breath!

How can the parched earth open her mouth to the rainstorm?
How can winter melt at the obedience of Spring's arrival?
Until my longing arms have encircled your waiting chest,
I cannot be fulfilled in my desire to hold you near!

You are the moon to my night! The waves against my shore!
the dove to my East wind and the mountains to my sky!
You are the rain to my thirst, the Spring to my winter!
