IM Awards Highlights (pics inside)

-fuzon sang a new verse for SAAGAR which was pretty cool.

-ali zafar, junoon, ep, and sajaad ali ALL praised the mekaal hasan band for making kickass music. *on a side note...in my opinion...this band is headed for superstardom very soon.*

-amna shiffat looked AMAZING. all i could say is WOW. if someone has a pic of her from this show..PLEASE post it!!

-NFAK won the lifetime achievement award. nice 2 know our industry respects its pioneers.

-every award was given to the appropriate singer. no screwjobs. one or 2 were shocking, but everyone who got an award deserved it.

-the evolution of pakistani music was shown. clips from the 70's, 80's, 90's and current day were shown throughout the show, to depict the journey of our music! very nicely done.

-enthusiastic lahori crowd!

there were many many more highlights. i would give the show a 9/10. very professional, fair, and organized.

i'll tell u the ones that i remember off by heart:

best male bhangra artist: ABRAR
best female bhangra artist: HUMAIRA ARSHAD
best band: JUNOON
best composition for a song: FUZON for AKHIYAN
best rock song: EP
best music video: MAHI by HADIQA
best male pop artist: SHEHZAD ROY
best female pop artist: HADIQA KIYANI
best debut album: HUQA PANI by ALI ZAFAR
best national (patriotic) song: DOSTI by JAWAD AHMED
contributions to music: SAJAAD ALI
lifetime achievement award: NFAK

it seemed as though the entire pop industry was there, but in fact big names like abrar, hadiqa, noor jehan's daughter, haroon, and some more were not there. can u imagine how good the show would have been if there were in attendence?!

dost19....the awards were held abt a month ago in lahore @ the alhamra hall.

tell me something peeps...doesn't shafqat amanat ali (fuzon) look like james brown?! LOL.

yeah, thats the guy! shafqat amanat ali is his name!! he has a voice of gold but he needs 2 cut his hair in my opinion.

same here.

according to pakmusic.com, we're about 15 days away from fuzon's second album releasing! i can't wait. apparently they are pinning their hopes on 'neend na aye.' u think the album will be a hit?!
