Reema shows off new find Simran
Super star Reema is making her debut as director. Her film 'Koi tujh sa kahan' is in dubbing stage of postproduction. On Thursday she introduced UK-based model Simran, one of the female leads of her film, to the media in Lahore.
Reema speaking on the occasion said that the film industry was going through a crisis and to help end it she decided to take the responsibility of making a quality movie. "I am also the producer of this film. I have copied Bollywood and Hollywood but only in the style of work. My film is in no way copy of any other movie. I went into even the minor details to ensure that it is a good quality flick.
"The paperwork took 18 months to complete. I have used modern equipment, which has been used for the first time for a Pakistani film. The music was recorded in India while the choreographer was also from Bollywood. I got the best talent for my film from different places," Reema said She said that she decided to take Simran as heroine of the film because she was disappointed with the local talent. "I dropped model Sophia Mirza because of her attitude problem. The shooting of my film was delayed for one year because of her," she said. Simran is making her silver screen debut in 'Koi tujh sa kahan'. She has the distinction of working with MTV and Channel V as a host. She said that she met Reema three years ago and working with her had been a wonderful experience. "I have learnt a lot from her. I would like to work in more Pakistani films," she said.
Khalilur Rehman Qamar, who has written the script, spoke about the hard work that he had done to come up with a new story.
Director Sangeeta came in under a lot of criticism for presenting low standard productions. She defended her work by saying that it was due to the commercial demands of film producers.
