Really insignificant, but what the heck:Why does there seem to be two different colors of clerical attire for Anglican bishops, one that's more straight purple and one that has a bit more of a pink tint to it? The latter seems a bit more "traditional" and in line with what the Romans wear. Is this just a matter of inconsistency between manufacturers?

There is a longstanding (perhaps irrelevant today) distinction that Protestant/evangelical-leaning bishops wear the "Grimace" purple and the more Catholic/high church-leaning bishops wear the "Pepto" purple. I've never figured out why.
Once I heard Bishop Claude Payne (retired) of the low-church Diocese of Texas quip that the dye for "pepto" purple shirts are "made from sour grapes."
