this letter seems to be written by u Rehan? rite?

i believe that one cannot feel the exact pain unless one goes through it ... similarly we cannot understand wht starvation and responsibilty of a family is...

one can never feel the pain of scortching sun when one is travelling in Air conditioned cars..

The government have banned the riskshawz!! well it did stopped the pollution but wht abt the poors who have riskhaws as their only source of income??? the government should have provided some kind of help to the poors before banning the 2 stroke riskhaws. Bilal is right by saying that government is trying to eliminate poors not poverty!

I don't know mechanics of this ban or much about this gov decision. What i understand, govt has banned rickshaw enteries in certain crowded sections of the town. They can operate in a larger portion of the metropolis. I think this is the right strategy to phase out rickshaws from public transit system, especially when it is a health hazard. I personally don't think it is an issue of eliminating the poor. It is not an outright ban. This is just like a "truck-free" zone - commercial trucks are restricted from entering certain areas in town for potential danger and traffic hazard they pose to the greater benefit of the people.

yar
the government gave an ultimatum an year ago that 2 stroke rikshaws are serious health hazards and the owners should start shifting to 2 stroke. as the 2 stroke will be banned in 3 years.
then this year it has banned them in a few city hubs.

yes i agree that the alternative easy installment buying program for the drivers should be properly implemetned and corruption free, but i dont think there is any incentive in violent protests. the protesting drivers stopped a rikshaw and manhandled a girl who refused to come out of it. this is not the way yar.
