Shifting Sands

I wish to have an hour glass,
to retrace time of days that pass.
Each grain of sand another day,
to relive dreams, now gone away.

Return once more to wretching pain,
change night fears to springtime rain.
To reverse time with just a twist,
turn the hourglass with my wrist.

To drift among the stars afar,
reverse the sands of time that mar.
Recall the harshness, step by step,
of broken hearts and secrets kept.

For hands of time will slowly change,
a second chance to rearrange.
The errors of our ways shown true
seen clearly now, we must undo.

To change the past, wish be granted,
change the dark to dreams enchanted.
Shifting shadows refrain from sorrow,
let the past become tomorrow.
