Tempest Brewing

Emerging tempest gathers high,
storm meanders across the sky.
Lavender hue mid tinge of gray,
wind blown lilac in disarray.

Clouds cast shadows upon the leas,
raindrops fall from summer breeze.
Lightning strikes in distance glow,
junipers sway in fields below.

Spanning the vista, far and wide,
as thunder rolls cross countryside.
Downdraft agrily twirl and swirl,
damaging winds forcefully hurl.

Eerie darkness as day turns night,
heavenly skies commanding flight.
Nature's turmoil on display,
something wicked comes this way.
