ahh..soo sweet!!

evr seen "sholay"?! indian movie which was really really n is still famous..wid hema malini,amithab bachan n dharmandara??
the 1 wid diloagues like "kitnay admi thay sambha"
n "yeh haath mujhe day day thakurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr"

n basanti is hema malini's character..n its really famous character..

basanti is a common name as well..for hindus!!(mostly for low caste hindus)so its assume tht a gal name basanti wud either be maid or the person is talking abt the movie character!!
its either 1 of em!!

well..in the movie hema malini is really a tough lady ..u knw..not afraid of anythin..bold n all tht blah blah
so..mayb thy call u coz u somehow hve similar nature or habits..or whtevr it is..
or thy call u tht coz it annoys u n u nevr knew wht it meant

associated with spring, joy, happiness
and
sacrifice


but as kaju said,, it used to b indi "gau wali" herione's name

few yrs back my dad had a car,,, a phateeechar one
we called it basanti
