The onset of the month of Rajab inspires a natural feeling within the hearts of many brothers and sisters of devotion and submission to Allah (SWT). It also brings to mind the fantastic adventure that occurs on the day of Me’raj, and of course the memory of one of the world’s greatest leaders of all times, Imam Ali bin Abu Talib (AS).
Please state some of the significance of this month, like you mentioned of Isra wal ma'raj.
Prophet SAW increased his fasting in the months of Rajb and Shaban. It is however, not known in any traditions that fasting in the month of rajb are as great as fasting in Ramadhan. The only other days of fasting that could come close would be in the first 10 days of Muharram, particularly 9th & 10th or 10th & 11th. Fasting on the 9th of Dhul Hajj is also known as virtous from the prophetic traditions. Fasting 6 days of Shawwal after fasting the whole month of ramadhan termed equivalent to fasting the whole year in authentic traditions.
I respect your opinion and you don't have to agree with me. I only present what is recorded in the authentic traditions of the prophet. Messenger of Allah SAW fasted on that day. Jews fasted on that day also because prophet Musa was given victory over firoun on that day. Upon knowing this Prophet said, We have greater right on Musa AS then the Jews so we will fast either 9th and 10th or 10th and 11th of Muharram from next year. Additionally, before fasting in the month of Ramadhan was prescribed, fasting on the 10th of Muharram was required and observed.
Again, this is the knowledge I have based on my learning from the traditions of the prophet. There is no compulsion on any one to agree with it.
I am however unaware of any prophetic traditions equating fasting in rajaab to fasting in Ramadhan. Please enlighten us with authentic traditions.
maybe u r right that fating in rajab and ramazan are not the same
but as u know in this month i said if we keep fat so the SAWAB would be as much as ramazan maybe im wrong
Definitely there is ajr in fasting for the sake of Allah. The amount of Ajr is only known to Allah, If Allah has not revealed that information via His messenger, we leave the matter to Him without assuming anything or passing judgment on His behalf.
